Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we handle your personal information under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Remember Live Trading and Projects (Pty) Ltd (“Remember Live”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2024/261994/07). We make software for people who run live shows. Our products include ShowSync, ShowSave, and ShowMode — macOS apps for live production. This policy applies to all Remember Live products, apps, and our website. For any privacy question or request, contact support@rememberlive.africa or +27 78 531 1181.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact support or correspond with us, we receive your name, email address, and anything you choose to include (for example, the details of an issue or a refund request).
Payment and billing information
Purchases of our products are processed by our reseller, Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the billing and payment information needed to complete your order — such as your name, billing address, country, payment-method details, and applicable tax information. We do not store your card or payment details. Paddle does. Paddle’s handling of that information is governed by Paddle’s own privacy policy.
Product and licensing data
To deliver and protect your licence, our software may process a licence key and basic activation data (for example, that a licence has been activated on a machine).
Website data
Our website is hosted by our website hosting provider (currently Framer). Basic, aggregated technical data (such as page visits) may be processed to keep the site working and secure.
3. How we use your information and our lawful basis
We process personal information to:
- provide, licence, and support our products (lawful basis: performance of our contract with you);
- process and fulfil orders through Paddle and communicate about them (contract; legal obligation for tax and record-keeping);
- respond to support and refund requests (contract; our legitimate interest in helping customers);
- keep our software, website, and customers secure and prevent fraud or abuse (legitimate interest; legal obligation);
- comply with South African law (legal obligation).
Where we rely on consent (for example, optional communications), you may withdraw it at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the providers that help us run the business, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms:
- Paddle — our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record, which handles payments, billing, tax, invoicing, fraud prevention, and refunds.
- Our website hosting provider (currently Framer) — hosts and serves our website.
- Google (Gmail / Google Workspace) — our email and support system, used to receive and respond to your messages.
We do not currently use any analytics beyond the basic, aggregated metrics built into our website hosting, and we keep website tracking to a minimum. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers (including Paddle, Google, and our website hosting provider) may process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information stays protected in line with POPIA.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, to provide your licence and support, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Transaction records held by Paddle are retained according to Paddle’s policies and applicable law.
7. How we protect it
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. Because Paddle processes payments as Merchant of Record, sensitive card data is handled within Paddle’s secure, PCI-compliant systems and is never stored by us.
8. Your rights under POPIA
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
- object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (below).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@rememberlive.africa. We will respond within a reasonable time. For payment or billing data held by Paddle, we will help direct your request to Paddle where appropriate.
9. Supervisory authority
If you believe we have not handled your personal information lawfully, you may complain to South Africa’s data-protection regulator:
Information Regulator (South Africa)
Website: inforegulator.org.za
Complaints: POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za
10. Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies needed for it to function and stay secure. The Paddle checkout may set cookies necessary to process your order and prevent fraud. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
11. Children
Our products and website are intended for professional and adult users and are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “last updated” date above.
